I'd assume because it is an opportunity for doctors to perform an experimental surgery and perfect a procedure that has been performed a grand total of like 3 times in the entire history of mankind

yep, hopefully this can help burn victims and shite
yes i agree this girl will most likely suicide again, weak minds are still weak minds after all.
but at least they got a chance to practice the procedure and learn from it
