Tacoma, WA: $135,000 salary

I moved to Seattle and heard terrible things about Tacoma, until I bought a house there (for fairly cheap, relative to prices now, as my neighbors house just went for 200k more than I paid for mine). The Tacoma area is great. There's good food to be had, Seattle is relatively easy to get to (although the reverse commute works best), and there's always a lot to do. The scenery regularly blows me away. My only issues have been traffic, as it's a hellscape and dating, as the women from here, I've found, are cold and homely, relative to other cities where I've lived.

For that salary, you could live pretty much anywhere, even into Seattle, and you could reverse commute into Tacoma. Georgetown is a nice little neighborhood in Seattle that I love, West Seattle is really nice, Burien is great, I'd avoid Des Moines, parts of Federal Way are really nice, Issaquah, where my family lives, is super swanky, and you have somewhat easy access to Tacoma using Highway 18. I'd avoid the northern suburbs of Seattle though.
