San Diego. Tacoma is terrible. The COL will be about the same so why not have better weather and more things to do.
That being said, the areas outside of Tacoma (Cascades, Olympic pennisula, etc,) are pretty amazing. Having lived in the area, Tacoma is just depressing. Seattle is cool though.

Tacoma isn't perfect and I'll admit I have a lot of fond memories there but it's hard for me to say it's terrible or depressing. Maybe it was you.
I mean, if you live in the hilltop area, sure but there's lots of nicer areas.
San Diego would be awesome but I think I'd rather more $ in my pocket living in Tacoma.

The COL is not the same. Tacoma is about 35% cheaper.
