Rooster you are right, it does have a teardrop hole and a ridge running back to the pan on the bottom of the handle.

Trust me, I understand the pain of having to cook with an unbranded cast iron skillet and the shame of F&D people knowing you own one.

Thanks MD you might be the only friend I've got. By the way thanks for the recipes you post on here, I've cooked several of them.

It still has to be scooped out around the hole. Others had the teardrop and ridge. If I remember correctly, bs&r is the only manufacturer that used NO. for number and IN. for size.

Im not a cast iron expert, I just inherited a bunch of cast iron and the damn biggest pressure canner ive ever seen a few years back. And I really didn't inherit it, just happened that nobody wanted any of it and were gonna throw it out when the FIL passed.
