2 QB system

I think it would be very effective with Burrow/Myles (whichever one is the better prostyle passer) and Narcisse. Having Narcisse running a wildcat type offense or a spread that he can run out of, use the option, and attempt short to mid range passes. (Occasionally setting him up for trickery and deep passes.) I think this season, god willing we have a qb that’s accurate and capabale of being a play maker to an extent, we really air it out.

There’s a reason it’s non-existent in the NFL and rare in college.

It’s looking like McMillan has the better chance of running those types of formations (although I would prefer Narcisse). I don’t like using 2 QB’s, but if they have some effective wildcat formations, and also throw in some RPO’s I think it could be effective with Narcisse or McMillan coming in a couple times a game to do this. Sort of like a QB sweep, then like a WR handoff, and catch them off guard with a deep bomb. That could work. I will say it’s best to just have 1 QB and move forward though.

We did it in 2007
Florida did it in 2006
Did Oklahoma have that big MFer who just ran QB keepers in the red zone?

No doubt. If i felt like Narcisse was an accurate extremely capabale of being the starter QB I would’ve just made a Narcisse needs to be our starter thread. I was just throwing out a hypothetical that i think would be interesting to see and that might be extremely efficient. Imagine if Williams last year had a cannon arm and could throw, not saying Narcisse can run like him but he does have a similar build.

Don’t count jmac out of the wildcat young man can run and has poise when throwing

I say find a way to put Burrow and Narcisse on the field at the same time in certain formations.

The last time LSU won the National Championship, 2 QB's were used.
The last time LSU beat Bama, 2 QB's were used.
And there were a few rough years as well in which multiple played in games. It can work. It ain't guaranteed to be advantageous, it can easily be downright detrimental.
That sick bastard Croton put 2 QB's on the field on the same play; that's when you're not bullshitting around w/the 2 QB scheme. Flynn was out for the conference championship game and Perrilloux did well. I suspect the meaningful, non-garbage time snaps he got during the regular season didn't hurt. Croton was really effective that first year, but only that first year.

I don't care what is successful in the NFL. What works offensively in the NFL doesn't always translate to success in college and vice versa. It's irrelevant.
As far as college goes, not many teams have this type of luxury.. but when they do.. it's successful. What I mean is not many have a quarterback with the rare size and speed combo of the guys used in limited roles to make this successful. Either those guys are the starter due to need or those guys switch positions.. Because they have the size, even when teams know it is coming.. they struggle to stop it.. these guys can punish defenders.
If Hurts doesn't transfer, I wonder if Alabama will have package plays.. even though Tua can run and appears to be a very talented passer. He is such a load to deal with.

Both won National championships doing so.
It was extremely crucial for LSU, because it prepared Perrilloux for big time moments and he eventually had to start in the SEC championship game where he was MVP.
It wasn't like he just came in for mop up duty, he came in when the games were on the line. I believe he came in the crucial drive against Florida for a number of plays.. which eventually resulted in our go ahead TD.

This is what I especially love the packaged plays for.. red zone touchdowns.
Blake Bell rushed for 24 TDs in just 2 seasons doing this.. while Landry Jones the starter in those 2 seasons also threw for 59 TDs.
Some will argue well that's the BIG, but again 2 SEC schools won championships with this type of model. It all depends upon the type of athlete the QB is and from the looks of it.. Lowell looks exactly like those 3 QBs who would be extremely difficult to tackle. I especially like the idea considering LSU does not have a proven bruiser type of rb. Of course Curry could be that guy.
Any ways, there was already a thread of this very discussion, not hardly a month ago and the overall consensus was quite the opposite of this thread.. Most were in favor of giving Lowell packaged plays.

We have a winner. Same time
A wildcat QB shows mostly run and the Defense knows it. I say bring in Narcisse and let him air it out- It will catch the def expecting run. Boom, let's do the unexpected and stop being predictable

I kind of agree with the statement, “when you have a 2 quarterbacks, you have no quarterbacks.”

When it works It’s not really 2 QBs
It’s a starter and a package/situational QB
Usually a much better runner, with a chance to throw.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted because this is going to happen. For it to be effective, though, Narcisse is going to have to prove that he can complete downfield passes to keep teams from stacking the box with him on the field. It's also an excellent way to get another young LSU QB solid field experience, which we're going to need more of next season.

Jmac is not (nor will he be used as) wildcat. The guy is a QB. 2 QBs may play, but I dont expect a 2 Qb "system". Of the "returning" QBs,Jmac has the best skillset. Burrows presence makes this a Burrow vs. Jmac.
I do expect Narcisse & Brennan to see limited snaps this year.

And take out one of our athletes that play WR/RB?
I don't think so
