Not to rail, but Ive got 110,000 on a 2014 Tundra and twice my AC has gone hot.
For a quick lets see if it will work, I did the Autozone do it yourself freon job and both times it fixed it.
Ive got to have a leak, any ideas ?

I’ve used a neon Freon and after a period of time a black light can be used to detect the source of leak

Yeah, probably a leak. Most often it's the Schrader valves at the low- and high-side ports and then the banjo fittings on the compressor itself. Unless you have something like GM uses with the stupid little rubber ball plug on the high-side port that leaks or blows out completely if you look at it hard with the cap off. Factory refrigerant fills already have UV dye in them, can just use a cheap blacklight to find the leak. Check around the compressor and compressor hub too, also over the condenser and evaporator if you can access it through the blower fan. Problem is there is no real cheap fix for a leak, have to open up the system then pump it back down to a hard vacuum to refill. For the cost of the repair you could probably keep buying the DIY cans for the next decade... ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)
