I’m still wary of his maturity and baggage. I would hope that it doesn’t come to us taking that risk. He has a great football mind and knows how to coach but as far as the responsibility and politics that come with being a head coach in the SEC, Kiffin hasn’t really shown anything to me that he’s mature enough for the job. If Orgeron is done after this year I hope there are better candidates available

I agree. I would be thrilled to have him as OC, but would be very, very skeptical as HC for all of the reasons you mentioned.

So - all emotions removed from the situation, if you're the LSU AD - what's your plan for LSU's future?

If you're betting your job, millions etc etc on it - what do you put your money on? Ed O's binder? Lane Kiffin?


Seriously, what happens to Aranda? Will he continue to work for O forever instead of running his own show? The only thing that seems certain to me is that you're gonna miss every train if you're worried about O. The whole idea is to trade up - so, if O wins 9 games - but a prolific coach comes available, you don't try to upgrade?
