I have a Husqvarna LGT 2654. I have never had an ounce of trouble from it. The 54" cut is pretty good at knocking out big yards. It does scalp a little on the short hills.

It has an hour meter so you can buy one used with low hours and save about $1k. They are in the $2300 range new.

Murray sucks. MTD sucks. MTD also makes many of the other major brands.

I know you are up north but forget which side of the state you settled into. The Monroe area doesn't have any on Craigslist.

West Monroe. Would prefer to buy new, purely for the warranty. I don't want to get burned with buying someone else's problem.

I was looking at accsssories for my JD ztr and saw this. It’s a roller you mount to the front of your deck to keep the middle off the ground to prevent scalping. You may want to see if your make/model has one available. I searched John Deere front roller.
