And this right here is one of baseball biggest obstacles. Baseball is such a regional sport and many fans only watch their teams. Unlike with football and basketball, fans of those sports are more than likely going to watch games without any fan allegiances tied to them.

I get that. But the thing is, I used to be a fan who would watch ANY game that was on TV, no matter who was playing. Seeing the Yankees and Red Sox play so much made me grow weary of them, then eventually the rest of baseball. I'm probably in the minority, but I know I'm not alone.

I think the point that tipped the scales for good for me is the playoffs. The Yankees will ALWAYS get the prime time slot during the playoffs. I can't begin to count the number of Astros games in the playoffs that have started at noon or 1:00 on a weekday while the Yankees got to play at night. It's that favoritism that turns me off to the sport, besides the Astros.
