Backpack tackle box

My 15 yr old grandson is asking for a backpack tackle box for his birthday. I have zero experience with this. Can any of you guys recommend one? He fishes a couple of farm ponds off the beaten path (with permission) and this does seem to be reasonable.

First step is figuring out what you're willing to spend. They're proud of some of these newer tackle bags. If you can figure out what kind of features he likes, say what he's currently using to hold all his stuff in and what he likes to take with him, that may help narrow it down a little.

I have this one LINK from Spiderwire that I won in a raffle. I haven't used it yet but it seems like a good bag from messing around with it. Comes with 3 tackle trays with room to add more, a ton of pockets, sunglasses case, a belt clip pliers holder(no pliers though). I think you're even supposed to be able to slip a couple rods in it upright and walk with them.

Thanks guys. Very helpful. Looks like the $60 to $70 price range would have all the features he would ever need. I appreciate the help!

My wife works in the field and got a mountain something backpack for work she never used. Has umpteen compartments and the plastic trays my other soft tackle box had fits nicely inside. Made a few adjustments like putting a thin piece of wood on the inside bottom so it would stand upright. Money.

I use a backpack exclusively. My setup is a standard Mountain Hardware backpack with a few of the Bass Pro ‘tray boxes’ inside. Works well for me!

Don't know if he watches any guys on Youtube, but some of the guys from the Googan Squad have their own line of backpacks, and just came out with some baits.

Son has a Fish Pond pack that is waterproof. He uses it for fly fishing.
