Looking to do a golf trip with a friend. Price range is about $1000-2000. Ideally would not be flying, but would if the destination is far enough. Suggestions?

I mean, with your parameters, the Florida panhandle may be your best bet

Hilton head or somewhere in the Carolinas. Plenty of good courses and weather is good. Not to fsr

Certainly would help if we knew your departure origin

Bandon in Febuary for your price range. Or if you want to drive then multiple stops along the RTJ trail or Myrtle Beach

Pinehurst or erin hills/whistling straits

At that price range I would prob look into the RTJ trail.
I personally love silver lakes

Not really in his price range

Pinehurst would come in under that target amount I think.
How many rounds are you wanting to play/nights stay?
Played Pinehurst #2 and #4 with a night stay at the Magnolia House for around $350. But that was in February a few years ago.

Pinehurst.
Just got back, unreal experience.
Did Tobacco Road, Pine Needles, Mid Pines and Dormie Club.
4 nights, 4 rounds, breakfast every morning, a lunch on the 36 hole day, and a dinner the last night and it was $750.
You could sub out one of those 4 and play #2 with Caddies and still be well within your price range.

Love that course. Always in amazing condition and love the course layout. Have played it a few times. So nice living in Greensboro.

You don't have to pay for a caddie, but it would help. Some tricky shots and distances out there. Me and a buddy got paired up when we played #2. One of the guys drove down from Canada for the day to play and the other guy was a douche with all the apparel and crap, but he had a caddie. Douche dude started playing from the tips while the rest of us played one box in. His caddie told him to start teeing off with us after about 3 holes. He was the by far the worst player of the group.

Also, with that price range you can potentially do whatever you want including flights.
Streamsong, Pinehurst, Scottsdale could all be done for $1kish.

All the people saying Pinehurst, the Number 2 Green fee is $400. One night stay and getting there you're already almost at the 1k budget. If you only want to do 1 or maybe 2 rounds it would be in his price range unless he wants to go to the very top of his budget

There are less expensive courses at Pinehurst...they aren’t necessarily suggesting he play the #2 course.

agreed but it would also be kind of strange to base a golf trip around a course and not play the premier course

It's not based around a course, but a destination. The entire town is all about golf, it's pretty special.
Similar to a trip to St Augustine. You can play ridiculously nice courses and not play Sawgrass.

You get cheaper deals on #2 going with a package.
Yeah, if you call and make a tee time for #2 only, you will pay a lot.

At that price range I'd suggest the RTJ Trail.
Depending on when you want to go:
1. Summer Unlimited Special - $97/Day (unlimited golf w/cart & range balls)
2. Fall Unlimited Special - $112/Day (unlimited golf w/cart & range balls)
They have other specials and packages, and some courses cost a little more but overall if you're looking to golf a lot and in budget this is a great idea.
