Mark Levin on Tariffs
Posted on 7/25/18 at 6:37 am

Don't know if anyone else heard Mark Levin's show yesterday, but he was railing against the tariffs, and was making the pro-tariff callers look silly for their lack of understanding of economics.
Does that make Levin a traitorous globalist, or is Trump possibly wrong on this?
PS Does anybody else think it's crazy that Trump can arbitrarily set tariifs on any product and claim national security as the reason? That is Congress's job as laid out in the Constitution... Or do we not care about that document anymore?

Which tariffs you talking about? The ones that were in place before Trump's tariffs or the tariffs he has instituted?

My favorite has been TDS turning leftists into fiscal conservatives all of a sudden.
If his bold strategy works and he’s able to negotiate a better deal that saves us more money than he temporarily invested in the farmers, they’ll have to scream about something else.
Well, there’s always the fake news Russia connection for leftists to jerk off to while they watch their wives bang other dudes.

Or the ones everyone else imposes on our goods?
Levin is a constitutional and legal savant but he's no economic genius nor does he apparently understand basic negotiation strategies

BINGO. It's all about leverage in the short-term to get the results we want (low or zero tariffs) in the long-term.

He’s railing against them in principle.
A lot of people intend to debate the tarriffs on principle. Debating them on their practical purposes would mean acknowledging economic and political realities.

I don’t like tariffs either, which is why I don’t want other countries slapping them on us. If countering with them is the only way to balance the discrepancy out and give us fair trade, I support it. We had a $517 billion imbalance with China last year.

It’s sad when the mind numbed robots want the status quo and always point to one opinion to try and manipulate others into being sheeple as they are. Don’t let an outsider upset the status quo, damit!!

It is a negotiating tactic. It isn't pretty but when everyone that produces needs access to the largest, or second largest (Not sure where we are at, economy in the world you can get shite done. If importers won't come to the table then America can start doing what it is good at and start producing it's own materials again. What we can produce can be filled in with countries that will play ball

Yes

Well Congress gave the President the power to do so. If they did there job and actually legislated, they could take that power away...

You're right... This board is definitely more intelligent than Levin, and he doesn't havy any understanding of common sense economics.
Y'all need to wake up... Just because you think he is a great President, doesn't mean you need to give up your right to reason for yourselves. I am on Team Trump for the most part... This is a mistake. A mistake he shouldn't be able to make, because the Constitution doesn't grant those powers.
And how temporary is temporary for these tariffs? A year? Five years? When you are a business that operates on small margins even six months of disruption can mean bankruptcy.

Cuck on this shite all day, I don't care, but the fact that we're being raped globally has got to end.

Why does everyone arguing ignore why these tarriffs are employed by trump?
I B has spammed the board with this nonsense. He’s called out every time and still insists on misrepresenting or outright ignoring the basis of these punitive tariffs.

Nobody gave a shat about the constitution or small business under Hussein, but now it’s a thang? Funny when the filth try to play conservative and use keywords: constitution, socialism, Russia, blah, blah, blah.

Nah. People who oppose tariffs are fully aware of the practical results of tariffs and thus have no trouble acknowledging the "purpose" that welfare state proponents think tariffs have.
I put this argument up there with
"Communism is great in theory, but...."
"The thing is that REAL capitalism isn't possible so..."
"But this isn't a PERFECT world,...."

Waiting on an example of any misrepresentation I have made.
Put up or shut up.

Yeah I am not a Obama supporter... I am a conservative that voted for Trump. Throw your strawman arguments away... You are better than that.

You would think, he would know that tariffs funded the government till 1913

Out of curiosity, do you understand why we are imposing tarriffs on some Chinese and EU goods today?
