you do know a) all homes are in a flood zone... but getting past that, b) homes in preferred zones flood all the time and some mortgage companies require flood no matter what. c) i wouldn't buy a house period without flood protection available.

and a) 100 year, 500 year, 100000 year flood zones baw some are different than others

Is a home at the top of a large 400 foot hill in a flood zone?

I would think the water would just flow right past it.
