How long until O just gets it over with and names Burrow the starter?

Remember when Les would not name Jamarcus the starting QB? I get it from the coach/team perspective, make everyone work hard and earn it. The players and coaches will know who the guy is. No need to unmotivate any other QB’s.

It would be foolish for O to do it now and risk a transfer. I would imagine a transfer will happen regardless, but you at least play your hand the best way possible.

While everyone, the coaches, the players at SEC media days, the other players at 7-on-7s, and even most fans, except for the obstinate few, know that Burrow is very likely a better QB than the others, he has NOT won the job yet.
I'm betting that the first week of fall camp, each of the four QBs get equal reps. In the 2nd week the top 2 QBs get most of the reps with the first team. After that, if its obvious, as I and many others expect, that Joe Burrow is the one, he'll get all the first team reps the rest of the fall camp to get everyone ready for Miami.
Who knows, maybe it'll happen sooner than that, but I doubt it, the coaches want everyone to KNOW who won the starting job, and be on board with it.
Any other process just feeds the trolls.

I'm cool with that. I want as many first team reps for JB as possible. New offense, new personell... going to need to get a lot of work in during camp to get things running smoothly.

Joe Burrow is the clear fan favorite, but I have no doubt in my mind that once he is named the tide will turn and the fan base will be bitching that he has no 1st string reps in a game, etc.
