True.

Doesn't make it a jaw dropping movie. On it's own merits (with out the Star Wars name) it's a reasonably good movie.

I agree, but don't you think having that one jaw dropping scene at the end of Rogue One is the very thing that made it a "Star Wars" movie? I'm of the age to have seen the OT in theaters upon their release. It may be a narrow view, but when I think of Star Wars I immediately think of Darth Vader. They go hand in hand for me. Even the prequels, as lame as they were at times, kept my interest because of the anticipated reward of seeing the creation of Darth Vader.

This recent trilogy has something missing that creates the pulse of the Star Wars franchise. Small parts of Rogue One managed to bring it back. Star Wars is all about this...

This movie makes 200 million worldwide and gets a 50% on Rotten Tomatoes without Star Wars attached to it.
