Movie is fine but the ending was over-the-top.

Reminded me of Attack of the Clones.

Can't we have a Star Wars film with some CGI restraint?

Just take Star Wars A New Hope and watch it directors.

And now ask yourself would it make sense to have all this crazy CGI action if the story was supposed to take place before A New Hope?

And why can't Storm Troopers shoot anymore? They miss everything...nobody dies anymore unless by some hand to hand combat or light-saber.

Vader was traditionally very fast. Like he could keep up with someone sprinting when it looked like he was walking. This is canon.

My Vader obsessed five year okd’s Favorite scene in any Star Wars save for him knocking Luke into the pit.

I know you got downvoted to oblivion which means I am going to, too, but I agree that Vader was too nimble. It doesn't fit how he acts in A New Hope which takes place almost immediately after this scene.

For the movie, yes. But if you read the book he was a bad arse who had robots built to fight him because he was such a bad arse. That’s how Vader should be, they just couldn’t do that in the 70’s.

Now I agree that the stories should be better. But Vader wrecking shite makes my inner child happy!

a cool fan service scene, but not nearly enough to save that movie
Damn you. Rogue One was fine. Some plot flaws and loose narrative, but expected for SW and the overall genre.

I didn’t grow up a big Star Wars fan because the ones they made in the early 2000s sucked and those are the ones I was first exposed to. Rogue One was the first Star Wars movie I really liked. After I saw it I watched all of the other SW movies and had way more appreciation for them. Great movie IMO.

Just to put my opinion in here, I think this is easily explained due to the fact that in ANH, Vader was facing a Jedi master. He fought him very conservatively. Against a bunch of regular troops, he can easily carve through them like cutting up a cake.
