It's because American Pie and its main cast and others films of its ilk, were basically the high water mark for those actors careers...for Reynolds, it's not even remotely close to his biggest role....or his best.

Its like saying, "why doesnt Not Another Teen Movie or 10 Things I hate About You" get more love?

Well it's because Evans and Ledger are not at all known for those movies now...plus they were released in an abundantly overrsturated market. By 2001-02-ish we were basically 6 or 7 yrs deep into that second, 90s wave of "Teen" flicks. I'd say the era began in 95 with Clueless and ended in 03-04 with Mean Girls.

I also think Reynolds seemed too established already for Van Wikder to stick out now. Remember he had already done Two Guys a Girl and a Pizzs place like 4 or 5 yrs before, The followed up by doing Waiting, Just Friends, etc etc..
