veterans always get a lot of attention, understanding, and help coping with PTSD but not many people consider that EMT, Firefighters, Police officers, doctors also see some sick shite that can really mess them up in the head.
I remember getting drunk with my uncle who was a OBGYN/surgeon and he told me about having to stitch a lady's genetalia back together after she had been brutally raped. she was all tore up. Said he came home disgusted with humanity after that. He ended up killing himself a few years later, not necessarily because of this incident but i think his job wore on him.

Now seeing trauma in the field, actual true trauma, burn victims, mvas with multiple fatalities, GSWs, and other types of injuries can and will effect you. In a sense you become numb after a while. Theres one accident I’ll never forget, 2 guys left a bar and were drunk, swerved off the road and hit a culvert. The impact jammed their doors shut and the car caught on fire. They were literally charred when they arrived, 1 was still alive but died before airmed arrived. I can still smell that god awful smell and this was 10 yrs ago. Now flight paramedic could be something he could look into. I have several friends on airevac and they love their job

veterans PTSD etc
A buddy is a combat infantry veteran.
He had some trouble. Told me vast majority of guys claiming PTSD in military never even saw a shot fired in anger.
