Op, make it as big as you can afford. Seriously. You need it at least 23ft long to fit a truck and have enough room to walk in front of it comfortably. I had a buddy build a nice new like $500k house in The Woodlands in Houston and he has a 19 ft garage. Can't park his truck in there. Given most people can't
Also, I'd make it 2.5 cars officially like others said for resale value. He'll make it 3 if you want to park 2 full size vehicles plus have crap.
