Pay no attention to the perception of growing disrespect for the LSU football program by the national media.
Take off the P&G glasses. What national respect does LSU "deserve" right now?
The haven't won or even played for a conference title in six years.
LSU's status as Bama's toughest challenger has essentially disappeared. Auburn, A&M and Ole Miss have beaten them more recently than LSU
They haven't been to a BCS/New Year's Six bowl in six years.
They haven't finished a season ranked in the top 10 in six years
They're 3-3 in their last 6 bowl games.
They have a HC who has only had one winning season (as a permanent HC) in his entire career.
That's not negativity. It's just facts. Now, this season can go a LONG way to changing the national perception or perceived "disrespect". But the reality is that over the last 6 years LSU has been a good, but by no means "great" program.

Lol. You make it sound like a&m and ole Miss have moved ahead of lsu in the conference. Funny CBS didn't choose either of those matchups for the primetime game.
