A consenting, free adult should be able to do what he wishes with his body.
While I generally agree I dont think many people are thinking of the medical costs of rampant drug use. You really think people will just let people die regardless of their choices?
How high would insurance premiums be if you said you used heroin regularly?
There's no way legalizing hard drugs on a grand scale doesn't bite society in the arse.

But we are getting rammed in the arse now.
Legalize possession. Sell it like alcohol. Allow testing by employers. Test by government for government assistance.
It takes the money out of the cartels hands. Our border becomes much safer. Illegal immigration slows down. It cuts back costs of war on drugs. Frees up prisons that are costing us too much.
It’s a win, win, win.
