Blake Mitchell is a 2023 C/RHP/3B with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Sinton, TX who attends Sinton. Slender young athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. Left handed hitter, loads back well in his swing with a well timed shift into contact, short and quick hand path to the ball, squared up the ball hard and consistently with some lift out front, pull to mid field contact, showed surprising power for his size and age, really projects well as a hitter as he gets stronger and more physically mature. 7.55 runner, sets up well behind the plate and shows lower half flexibility and quickness, athletic and comfortable in his overall actions, pretty sound footwork overall, hands are soft and confident receiving the ball, arm works well and will continue to improve in overall strength. Also pitched, high leg raise delivery, short stride out front that creates downhill angle but that will throw off his arm timing at times. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, mostly straight, still developing feel for curveball release point. Interesting young athlete who really hit the ball well at this event. Good student. Named to the National Underclass South Top Prospect List.
