2014 Duramax 6.6 liter sputtered and died.

This morning, it dies. While it's loses power and dies, it pops up fuel filter issue and then right behind that, something about reducing power. I coasted to a safe spot. Changed and primed the new filter and it will not start at all, just turns over. Doesn't turn over. Anyone know what it might be? Google shows maybe the filter housing cracking and letting in air. Not sure.

Check all around black plastic filter housing for diesel, then check the bleeder plug for air leak on the side. Hand prime the hell out of it and turn over several times. If it doesn't start, God bless on that CP4 pump job.

Sputtering and not runnng is normal for Chevy. Not to worry.

All the Chevy diesel mechanics are in the Bahamas this time of the year

I actually took the plug out and primed it until fuel squirted out and then replaced and continued to prime...still nothing. Ugh....I'll look into that.

Check for leak under the hand pump itself. I’ve had and known several people that had to change the o-ring under the pump. Not a big deal. Just 3 screw and take off

Possibly the fuel filter housing ( what filter attaches to)
Housing can be rebuilt or replaced

Should have bought that f250 tee

Then he’d have to replace the entire fuel system

After you spend 12k fixing them they're the best truck out there

You realize that they are both common rails and use the same CP4 pump right....

This is very likely your problem. Had the same exact death and subsequent repair on my '07 Duramax about a year ago. Couple hundo and you're back on the road.

It was the fuel injector pump. It's at the shop.

Ford has a shitty water separation system. They're prone to sucking water and taking a dump
