It’s not a legend if you saw him play first hand. He was better than Faulk. It’s a pity he was so screwed up.

I did see him play first hand and while he was very, very good, his legend has grown well beyond his actual productivity. You could pick a 3-game stretch for several players (Guice, Fournette, Broussard, Hilliard, etc.) and somehow claim they were better than Collins.

Nope. Faulk was a beast in every aspect of the game. His running skills were second to none, his special teams skills were superb (perhaps (?) the best ST player ever at LSU) and he had great receiving skills (he had the best hands on the team).

Collins was good, but the 'what if' factor makes his legend bigger than it should be.
