We went on a near shore trip a few years ago and Mrs. Crawfish ended up catching a monster Tiger shark right by the buoy in the pass. That will definitely make you think once or twice about swimming out to the second sandbars.

Go snorkel just past the 1st one in the afternoon and count the stingrays. I mean, just past where people are bobbing up and down. Or, if you want to continue going out there and bobbing up and down, don't go snorkel out there in the afternoon.

My thought is that once you put your toes in that water, you enter a food chain that you are not at the top of.

I get the heebie jeebies when I get out about chest deep, especially when the water is murky. I know the odds are low, but not being able to see, and knowing what's out there is a bit unnerving.

I mean, I still do it but I don't love it.
