Brits are well oiled machines of war. We have the numbers on them but on a quality level they’re just as strong as us

Corruption among the ANA is still present

Am I the only one wondering why this guy carried a claw hammer into a fight in a tunnel? It obviously worked, but that’s a pretty unconventional choice of weapon

No doubt it was one of theirs. Imagine getting killed by your own claw hammer

They are a little tighter on spilling all the beans. Official Secrets Act, and all that.

You may just possibly have something there.

Eh Idk about Glock jamming... or the fact a SAS Officer can't unjam it when it very rarely happens. You can Christmas tree a Glock which I've done before but most jams can be simply fixed with a tap, rack, bang. Not saying the story isn't true. And confined space he may have just thought the claw hammer was more efficient. But to say the pistol was inoperable due to jam Idk about...
Thanks for this. I'd been waiting for a shooting range paper target hero to question the capabilities and/or veracity of an SAS officer.

tabloid article.
As I said above it’s weird that they have so much details about a simple operation (the Taliban killed weren’t high level) considering the complete secrecy of this group.

There used to be a culture of complete silence. At one time you would only get confirmation that a man had served in the SAS in his obituary, even if he had been retired for decades. Anyone who broke this unwritten rule was completely ostracized. The actor Christopher Lee served in the SAS during WWII and never talked about it, even though it would have been an advantage to his career.
The founder of Delta, Charlie Beckwith, served an exchange tour with SAS and brought many of their traditions with them. No surprise they're a lot more closemouthed than their Navy counterparts.
