Aside from 3 or 4 albums in the late 70s into the early 80s the guy made some horrible music. I mean really frikin' awful.

His "golden era" was from 1982-88 when he was absolutely on fire musically. I would agree that MOST ( not all) of his stuff after was for hardcore fans only. This is subjective though, and 100 mill+ album sales would say he was a lot more than a few good albums.
