I can honestly say, I don't give a shite and would never have started a post about it.
Yet you gave enough of a shite to post a reply where you quote the OP and talk about not posting about the subject.

The people of California are willing to die of a terrible death when the big one hits than live in your fly over crap hole. Think about that for a minute.

"California" would become the greatest state in the union.
It would be a farmers paradise with a pretty conservative government, but still contain the coastline and best city in the state in San Diego.
"Southern" California would be an absolute shitole. It would not have the Silicon Valley Money but still have their politics and mindset. That state would be bankrupt in a year.
"northern" California would be filthy rich but a total hippie state that still had wine country. Would be an interesting place to visit.
I hope this passes.

And when it happens, I won’t care one fricking bit because I’ll be alive in my crap hole. Think about that for a minute.

Someone recently asked me to sum up California in a sentence.
I couldn't do better than 'Disneyland for the Mentally Ill'

New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.
Again, I don't remember the exact details, but the grammar in that sentence was exactly what the entire podcast was about. It dealt with the ambiguity of semi-colons and whether they're intended to act as a period or a comma. If it acts as a period then it would detach, not link the statements and somehow allow states to decide.
Again, far from a grammar expert myself (kill me now middle school English class), but that's what the podcast was about.

Does this have any real chance of happening?
no. not a chance in hell. some stupid rich guy with money to burn managed to get the signitures to get it on an initial ballot. no telling how he got the signitures but it won't happen.

If the split happens, I hope Northern California is allowed to keep its warm girls.

USC is a private institution.
They will call themselves USC if they ended up as part of Eastern Hawaii.

Did you even look at the map. San Diego would be in Southern California. “California” would just be LA and six counties. Now if this were to somehow happen “California” would be the worst state in the union.
