About to say. I’m not sure where this nonsense comes from.

I know the 737 has craprastic runway performance compared to the 757, but that airport has seen Air Force One (a massive 747) and it’s associated cargo transport jets.

There is no runway constraint at BTR for any type of passenger jet that would operate there or need to land there if there was an emergency at MSY. BTR’s Runways are actually significantly longer than Midway in Chicago, which is a major Southwest hub.

BTR’s constraint with Southwest will likely be available gates. They will have to expand one of the concourses. I think there is only one gate available now. Luckily they have plenty of space to expand that.
