What a milquetoast, unscrupulous retort.

I agree technology and especially social media have made us extremely shallowly attached to everyone however deeply alone and wishing for true connections.
We simultaneously feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of people we're connected to but also feel crushingly alone at the same time. It's a problem exacerbated in youth.

I really can’t help but think it’s because society has lied to people. It’s told them they should have more sucesss than what they can achieve. And when they fail to achieve it, they feel like there life has been a waste. And they decide that so young! It’s tragic.
Society needs to do a better job of explaining how the world works and teaching people that a good life has many different meanings.

Do you think there was a time in this country when we took mental illness more seriously than today?

This is BS. Nobody looks down on anyone for seeking out treatment for depression anymore.

Naw, they should whine about it constantly, that is a great fricking strategy.
but on the subject at hand, I have been depressed and I have been not depressed and that shite is real because the whole world looks different
and the right anti-depressant can work wonders, then the chemical imbalance or whatever clears up and you don't need it any more if you are lucky
