Nurses in Cali make 150K. It's possible to become a nurse with 3yrs of college.

That's something of an exception as the California nurses' union is very powerful, and that number doesn't take into consideration purchasing power. Also, nurses in that range have a fairly low ceiling vis a vis many other professions who command that kind of salary.
I'd rather be a 27 year old in big law with big law debt in NYC making $190K than a 40 year old nurse in California making $150K given expected lifetime opportunities and projected income.
