The Hilliard' injury sounds very familiar.

So for the second year in a row, a top pitcher goes down due to muscle fatigue. Just like Walker last year, being over worked at the end of the season makes no sense. Read the article from last year and decide for yourself. When you are experiencing muscle fatigue, you should not be pitching in a simulated game during post season (Walker's injury)or on short days rest for the SEC tourney (Hilliard)

You're a liar. Tommy John surgery is not performed to fix muscle fatigue. Stupid.

So it was called muscle fatigue, then he went out there and injured it again causing him to have the surgery. Same words out of PM's mouth in the article. So are you saying Hilliard will need surgery now. I thought you would have a story to defend throwing Hilliard on short rest. Trying to win the SEC tourney caused an injury to a top pitcher on staff. There is no reason for Hilliard to have thrown on short days rest Period

Walker's injury was in his elbow, both Hilliard and Labas have sore shoulders and should go if necessary.

That’s because they thought it was muscle fatigue. You can’t diagnose a torn ligament on the mound.

No, he didn't. He never pitched again after he was removed from the Oregon State game. Get your facts straight.

The first sign of injury trouble for Walker came when he felt forearm tightness in his throwing arm after six innings of an intrasquad scrimmage on the Tuesday before the College World Series.

quote:

Cleared to pitch again after a throwing session on the morning of the CWS opener, he pitched the Tigers' second game in Omaha and came out after he faced the first batter in the third inning, again with forearm tightness and pain that Mainieri said "radiated" into Walker's elbow. The coach immediately shut down Walker for the rest of the series.

I’m not a Dr. but I’m pretty sure muscle fatigue is not the same as forearm tightness with pain radiating into the elbow

ETA
Also, I’m not a coach or trainer but I feel confident that they have examined Hilliard & maybe ran tests, I don’t think they would let him attempt to throw until they knew it wasn’t anything major

Well read the article. Clearly states PM said muscle fatigue

It's obvious you don't know what you're talking about. Get your facts straight and stop making shite up just to fit your anti-Mainieri vendetta.

Do you not understand the difference in a shoulder & an elbow?

That was before the MRI was done when Walker got back to Baton Rouge which revealed a partial ligament tear. And Walker never pitched again after the OSU game.

Maybe you should read the article and all of the follow up articles after the team returned home.

You're totally irrational.

Walker was elbow, HIlliard's is shoulder.

There is a difference.

Again read the article. Apparently PM doesn't know the difference.

Not blaming any players or coaches but LSU baseball has had a shitload of pitchers being injured during the past 5 years or so...and at the most unfortunate times. Seems like every fricking season.

Yea there is a reason for that. Walker and Hilliard's status update were both muscle fatigue. Then Walker's injury ended up being more serious and required surgery. So let's see if Hilliard goes out there and pitches after his Muscle Fatigue diagnosis. Walker's injury was over looked in the practice game and not taken serious until he couldn't pitch anymore in the CWS.
