There be SPOILERS below

quote:

Border towns can be mysterious places, which is why Major League Fishing’s visit to the border towns of Natchez, Miss., and Vidalia, La., along the Mississippi River is a perfect location to instill mystery back into the MLF Challenge Cup.

So, the first episode was on Black River lake and Cocodrie lake with everything in betweeen available to fish. Kriet said,

quote:

“This thing does me no good at all,” he said in amazement holding up his map.

“Look!” he said with a grin. “It looks like someone drew a noodle next to a horseshoe. This looks like something I’d draw trying to play Pictionary.”

None of them had ever been before. It was September and post front. The place was fished as one would expect-hard cover with a mixture of cranks, spinner baits and soft plastics. Most fished BRL. Brauer fished Workinger. Takahiro did well in the mud in Cocodrie. Not as many spots were weighed as I expected to see. No one fished deep. I thought maybe A-aron would back off with a drop shot, but I never saw him do it.

No idea where they go next.

Watched it this weekend. Kinda cool seeing them fish the same spots and techniques I do.

Im curious if anyone else that watched it noticed, but it stood out to me the amount of garbage on the banks compared to other lakes you see them fish. Discarded bicycles, old rafts, etc. Maybe I just noticed it more because of the location.

It was a good watch. I love the MLF shows.

I found it was interesting to read that even Hackney (who wasnt on the first episode) didnt have any experience fishing that area.

Will be interesting to see how it shapes up.

Cocodrie is a bayou not a lake, and over the last several weeks a good jerker coulda beat em with a string of perch.

Really neat to see them fish Larto. Very few left the lake, and I could not recognize exactly where they were. Again, the square bill and bladed jig rule the day.
