re: What are your thoughts on Dr Zhivago?

I thought Laura in that smoking hot red dress was the most beautiful actress in Hollywood. If length and complexity of Russian movies bothers you, stay away as there has never been a Russian movie..or book written for that matter.. that is short and simple, as Russia itself has always been complex & difficult to reduce in time. Some really great acting & the scenery was spectacular. Not up to specifics but seem to remember it won many awards that year.
