I could see lots of people going to NYC for an interview doubtful they really want the job (like you) but think screw it, Its a free trip to NYC, why not. If they make you an offer negotiate on relocation(run if they won’t pay your relocation). You can also make yourself whole on trip costs in negotiations on salary, sign on bonus, etc.

Oh frick you, you piece of shite. He’s 4 years out of college, and just because you’re petty as shite, you’re going to force some people to fly out on their dime instead of a Skype interview just to determine if he’s serious? What if they all fly out for the interview?

In the meantime out of our 7 candidates who flew out, we decided to hire a NYC based rep due to his connections in the local area.
