Correct, I did, however, if they want to increase my workload they should compensate. Either with yearly salary or bonus.
Move to another state. I don’t understand why teachers bitch about the pay when they knew what they were getting when they signed up.
My wife irks in the school system as a speech pathologist. She took a 45k a year pay cut to work in the school system 9 years ago in order to have the time off and benefits associated with working for the state. I make good money, so it is not a hardship on my family. We love her bee fits for our kids, but it still pisses me off how much money she is losing each year over the course of her career of going to work for the state. I’m glad she’s happy, but pay for teachers is not what it should be. I have no idea how you find the money to pay them with the current state of the LA fiscal budget.
It is what it is, man.

You could quit if you are not happy.
Also, how many days off per year do you get? Last time I got off for fall break, Christmas break, spring break and summer break I was in college. Seems like a pretty decent salary for 9 months of work per year. What do you do to supplement your income during all those days off?
