At one time I had heard he was a heavy lean after decommitting from Texas A&M, now no discussion about him lately.

He has been visiting everywhere this spring. Went to Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M, Cal, Arizona since the beginning of March and is officially visiting Ohio State this weekend.

Ohio State right now seems like front runner IMO, he visited them unofficially back in early March and is officially visiting them. Also has a few close friends/teammates considering Ohio State.

not sure if OSU is the best fit for him. CUM has shown a tie to dual threat QB's in his tenure. While he is probably a good enough coach to have a pocket passer, history shows he like a DT. Just IMO

Its early. I have said all along that I thought it was unlikely he would end up at LSU. That being said I hope somehow they can sign Gunnel and Quad. I would love for LSU to have them competing as teammates.

Recruiting is a year long adventure. Several updates have been given by San Spiegs. I suggest getting on Twitter if you want to be up to date with recruiting. Or use the search function. I guarantee you that if it deals with LSU recruiting, it’s been discussed on here.

You were thinking Arky if I remember correctly?

I do think Morris is after him hard. And I can see the attraction of Morris too for a QB.

Surprisingly, Morris hasn’t shown him much if any interest since being hired after initially reoffering Grant a week or two after being named HC but maybe Grant isn’t interested, our OC and QB coach Craddock likes others better or some other factors have taken priority in his somewhat bizarre recruitment.

Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Oregon look to be out in front for Grant currently.

Case of somthing(s) Morris doesn't like OR just has higher priorities/better targets?

two different things completely, at least to me

They are fully after Jefferson and have pursued him since January. Grant was excited right after Morris was made official (multiple articles written) and prior to decommitting from A&M and once he decommitted even more but not much contact since for ARK-Grant from what we can gather. He could’ve got mad with offering other QBs.

Everything I've read leads me to believe he is checking on other schools, or enjoying the visits.

It's probably LSU, OSU, Oregon, OK state.

He went to listen to Orgeron and Ensminger speak in Houston today.

Speigs did a write-up about it. LINK

LSU priority QB recruit Grant Gunnell raves after seeing Tigers’ new-look offense for first time

quote:

“This is kind of my first time getting to look at it, but I’m going to go down again and talk about the offense,” Gunnell said. “I liked the quick game a lot. That was pretty cool to see.”

Ensminger, LSU’s first-year offensive coordinator, showed a highlight reel of some of the Tigers’ newest plays and formations coming out of spring ball. Among the clips were empty backfield formations, quick screens and run-pass options, all wrapped behind Ensminger’s assertion that LSU will be a more spread team that works out of the no-huddle and uses its receivers as an advantage in 2018.

Hearing those guarantees sounded good to Gunnell, who said he likes seeing a more spread offense. But it wasn’t all he needed to hear. Gunnell said the two biggest factors in his recruitment are finding a school where he can get a quality education and compete for conference and national championships.

He also listed relating to coaches as a major factor, and luckily for LSU fans Gunnell said he and Ensminger have a close relationship. The two speak frequently, with Gunnell saying he talks with and calls Ensminger “a lot.”

Gunnell said he plans to make his commitment decision in the summer so it doesn’t interfere with his upcoming senior season at St. Pius X High School in Houston.

GG: Must be HELL to have same initials as Glen Guilblow!!

Seriously, for anyone to question the intrigue LSU FB may hold for Grant Gunnell, it is mentioned that he was at our Houston LSU Traveling Show!! I hope it answers questions about mutual-interest in this VERY TALL QB.
