I think at some point you dilute the meaning of being a champ if you add in too many weight classes. Seeing boxers with a hundred different belts from 10 different weight classes separated by a half pound across multiple organizations always looked dumb to me

I agree - boxing has grown to have too many. I think MMA can handle it at this time as mentioned above. But I don't know if those divisions will always be like this. Historically they have been pretty full of talent. But what if they get diluted in the future - then it turns to shite.

Id rather guys fight at their best weight class than where a shiny belt.
