Jarrar pointed to the comments as an example of “what it’s like to be an Arab American Muslim American woman with some clout online expressing an opinion.”

Creative writing professor making $50K = clout.

Ha...How is it that these types are so drawn to education?

Edit...uh oh

It is sick and twisted that you would give out a mental crisis hotline number, knowing that doing so will cause that line to get clogged up and possibly prevent people who need help from getting it.

If she's not fired after that, Fresno deserves complete scorn.

Handing out the mental crisis hotline as your personal number in response to people losing their shite on you is...funny

No. Handing out the number to a sex hotline would be funny. What she did is outrageous.

You guys are brutal. I feel bad for her. Did you see her picture? Try looking like that and being a happy person.

Why are almost all "progressives" disgusting individuals with zero self respect?

So many people confusing freedom of speech with freedom from consequence.
quote:

You don't have a right to embarrass your employer. 1st Amendment protects you from being jailed, beaten and silenced by the opposition. It doesn't protect you from being fired if you act in a manner harmful to your employer.

Why do so few people understand this simple concept? It is one of the most frustrating aspects of our ignorant society.

Our freedom of speech is so unique in the history of our species. Things that people can, and do, regularly say these days, would have (300 years ago in Europe, or today in Cuba and North Korea) gotten the person tortured or killed by the government (or crown, etc.).

But that doesn't mean I can say anything I want and not suffer employment consequences. But the government cannot arrest me for it.
