I'm leaning that way, but a lot of it has to do with where I am in life. If you asked me 7-10 years ago I would have said no. But I had one young child and my wife and I worked full time. We'd get home, eat dinner, and after our kid went to sleep we'd fire up the DVR and catch up on a couple of shows. Now we've got all sorts of stuff going on, and I can't even find the time to binge on a Netflix show.

Yep. I'm married with no kids and it's hard enough to keep up, especially since both of us work full time.

I was thinking about this the other day. I truly think that scripted TV has never been better than it is right now. An incredible wealth of fantastic, groundbreaking storytelling over the past 10 years.

Yes, so much so that it actually causes delays in starting a new show. I’ll sit down and go thru the shows I’m wanting to watch, realize there are 8 or 9 and end up not picking one cause I can’t decide and because I think about how long it’s gonna take to watch all of them

Im like damn, I’ve got 240 hours of tv I need to watch

watch some of the stuff that other people rave over.

If anything, there is too much of this.

I don't watch much (i.e. any) current content but one issue that occurred to me not long ago might be more pressing than merely the question of watching it all. That is, with more content, the viewership is more fragmented, and with greater fragmentation comes less demand for any individual show, which leads to lower ratings and quicker cancellation, even for shows that aren't advert-supported.

I start looking through everything on Netflix, realize I've spent half an hour just searching through checking out the options, and then get overwhelmed and flip back to cable and find a movie I've seen 100 times already on one of the movie channels and finish watching it for the 101st time

Also, its much easier to STOP watching something now, as I have about 100 other options.

This is absolutely true. I used to stick it out with a show if I was getting disinterested to see if the show gets better but now as soon as my interest begins to wane I'm out.

As far as Netflix and Amazon go, I download seasons to my phone and watch at work.

I have a lot of downtime.

Just scrolling through the other day and it is up to 10 or 12 shows, just since 2015 that I need to put on the watch list based on good buzz.

Ain't nobody got time for that. Better filters is what we need, before we amp up the content production rate.

I have a DVR that we don't even use.

I can always find something to watch.

If not...then, there is on demand.

If not...then, to the owned movie library.

All that DVR will do is give me another chore that I won't get around to.
