Russia moved heavy bombers into Iran yesterday I believe.

There, we agree on something. My problem is that the SDF and YPG/J will likely get screwed by Assad
Yea who knows. Assad to Kurds isn’t like Saddam Hussein was to them. He actually had his army try to protect them at first but his army got wiped out. He even sent troops up recently to try and help the YPG against Turkey in Afrin but it was definitely not their better troops as most of those were in Ghouta region at that time.

From Russia or from Syria?

I’ve watched this through in Syria and Iraq quite a bit. I just remember the info and being surprised US was striking there but Palmyra is a major historical town and was important to protect, though most of it got demolished by ISIS. I clicked on a Washington post article that quoted 43 air strikes b/c I didn’t remember us being THAT involved with Palmyra so that proved my point. 43 air strikes is nothing considering much of it was countryside.
We hit the airbase very hard when ISIS recaptured it and took out all of their armor. Russia had to provide minesweepers because they completely booby trapped the old town and new town. It was nasty stuff.

SDF is Kurdish dominated, they have spread to a frick ton of non Kurdish areas and are literally treating the people no different than ISIS did.
They've done a pretty good job at implementing arabs into it. I've heard about the clashes between kurds and arabs but I think for the most part it's been resolved.

Guy on Fox just reminded Tucker that Russia is only about 500 miles from Syria. I'd forgotten how close they are. But I don't know if they have any assets that close. He brought this up within context of mentioning Russia's claim that they may retaliate if there's a US strike.
Russia will shoot down Tomahawks but they're in no position to shoot planes or ships or try to hit SOF.

Yep. I'm pretty sure the SDF's Arabs will be fine with reintegration back into Syria but I don't think Assad will do much to protect the YPG or Kurds in general with Turkey breathing down their neck. The US is protecting them in Manbij right now

Agree, makes sense.

Russia never had heavy bombers in Syria. They use Irans when they need it.

Yeah. I’m of the semi-educated opinion that Russia’s military hardware is in poor condition. They can’t afford to maintain it. They also can’t afford to make any of their shinny new toys in any meaningful numbers. And they won’t risk those valuable assets for Syria.

Right. I'm replying so quickly I didn't read heavy bombers. They have/had? SU-34 in Syria so that's what I thought you guys were referencing.

It's nowhere near the post-Soviet Union state. Russian hardware is actually pretty decent. Nowhere near the USAF but it's good.

Russia has cruise missiles they can strike ships with or air bases. They have s400 that can shoot down cruise missiles and our aircraft. They are not helpless.

God, I hope they don't shoot down any of our planes.

Trump called out Putin by name. How can Russia not respond when they said they would?

Strikes underway. Here we go.

S400 is no joke.
I wonder if the Russian Navy has figured out that damage control is useful. In the past they gave no fricks about it.

What did he just say about our economy with this strike?
