I'm lost. If he's playing immediately, and I assume he'll only be here one year, how does this affect a recruit for the next signing class?

Just like with the transfer kicker and two transfers (DL/WR) from last year, they each now based on the rules updates took away one of our 25 spots to sign recruits on that given year (or backcounters if you had any).

It is why these types of signings unless they are a starter that is going to put you over the top aren't really worth it anymore. They now cost you a recruit that could be in your program longer.

This isn't a knock on the kid. If the rules hadn't changed, this isn't a big deal, but they did change and now we've lost out on signing a potential recruit next December/February because of his transfer.

the kicker counts as a scholarship because he is playing this year

the 2 guys from last year counted as a scholarship because they sat out, and are playing this year

i guess im curious how someone counts as a scholarship after they leave the program. Alexander will count for a scholarship for this years recruiting class and next years you are saying, even though he wont be on the team next year
