I don't know. My kids are normal kids and if they came home and said their teacher got frustrated at them because lets say, a math problem and instead of handling the situation like an ADULT professional teacher, decided to cuss at my 12 year old child then insult me on top of it. Then belittle my kid and tell them they won't make it in their next step in life, we might have a problem.
Autism comes in all shapes and sizes, they have some that might have few problems and can walk and talk, some can walk and not talk, some can't do either.
That boy was in that room while they were talking, they were talking straight to him. Didn't you hear him mumble and shreek, and shrill? Matter of fact they are in a room with multiple kids, you can hear they were scared by the teachers loudness. They boy is non verbal, that's why you hear mumbling noises. Some people obviously don't know autism.

I agree. I don't think it's nothing. But, I think it was handled poorly on the mother's part. I would have been waiting for the principal at the door the next morning. The focus should have been on getting the child away from those teachers instead of getting an attorney. Frustrated or not, that's unprofessional as hell. God knows I couldn't teach special needs kids all day long. I probably wouldn't make it one day. But, if its come to the point where you are taking out your frustration by belittling a kid (any kid, not just special needas), it's time to move on. I think I'd only contact the news or an attorney if the school refused to fix the situation.

you're absolutely right, I don't know autism. I know (of) exactly one kid with autism. Hes huge and strong and unruly. His parents got pissed at his school for the way they treated him when he started having a fit. I understand their feelings. I also understand the school's concerns trying to handle this kid.
in short, I'd like to hear the teachers/school's side of this story before I get my torch and pitchfork and join Nakamoto or the outraged posters here on this one.
