Not really. Im not really even debating you about anything. You have an opinion I disagree with but its not something that can be argued or debated.

Im making a point that politics is a nasty game. The opposition is nasty and sometimes strong language is needed to combat these people. The Obamas spewed a lot of hate towards conservatives. They arent classy people. Once you stick your neck out, you are fair game.

I literally did a doubletake when I saw his username.....like, surely this isn't the same guy who just wrote a 500 word post about how the right is digging its own grave.

I don't mind his overall message, it's just he has shown quite a bit of hypocrisy.

What does it matter? She has zero bearing on the direction of this country then or now. No different than the left calling Nunes a dolt or Trump “Drumpf” or whatever they call him. shite gets slinged from both sides equally.
The OP explained this already. It's not about Michelle Obama. It's about that kind of behavior from our side turning off potential voters.

Amen! Thank you.

Can you imagine the shock of a person turning to this board, perhaps with new tax cut benefits in his/her paycheck, wondering what else conservatism offers, and stumbling on a thread with photos of Mrs. Obama and her supposed penis pointed out?

Ok, some may chuckle.... but many would respond with "NOPE... not for me"

Just as a reference point, do you think the current Democrat agendas and leadership are reasonable?

How about this... being reasonable here... show me my hypocrisy and I will either admit it and apologize, or clarify more carefully. Fair?

JP: Hey guys, let's tame it down with the hyperbolic insults. I had a buddy who I'd brought over to our side but then my conservative in-laws opened their yaps and I lost him.

mmmmm: Agreed, JP. People really need to stop with the bombastic and disrespectful rhetoric. Respectable people are getting sick of it.

JP: No they're NOT! You have no proof! You don't know anything about me!

You are taking this message out of context. That is not at all what I meant.

You are going all over the map here. I am trying to keep up. I made my OP fairly clear.

You then say that the middle sees ONLY the bad apples on the Right, and thus the Left will be loved-upon by the Middle.

I respond with "What's your proof that the Middle isn't equally upset with the crap on the Left?"...

And you find me being hypocritical?? I genuinely don't follow your line of thinking?

I think they're certainly alienating a cross-section of the population who aren't ready for the changes more progressive people want to see. If they stick with healthcare, wealth inequality, access to quality schools, and responsible foreign affairs, they'd be best off.

Certain Dem leaders making LGBTQ, bathrooms, abortion (settled law), and political correctness cornerstones of their platforms is a YUGE mistake. Doing so will result in making the same mistakes the right did with the Tea Party movement.

Moderate and pragmatic governance wins votes in general elections and keeps our country on a strong path. It's the party-centric primaries that are hurting the right and, if dem leadership cannot reject the impulse to move further left, the same thing will happen to us.

It seems you are holding conservatism to an unreasonable standard. If someone who is unhappy with big government and is starting to become conservative sees a crude thread by some random anonymous joes on the internet he runs straight back to the democrat party? The same group of people who are quite a bit more vicious and nasty than this board is on its worst day?

You see yourself as some elitist who can see above the fray but think lesser people are at the mercy of their emotions. The people who are actually like that are hardcore leftists and will never change.

People aren’t attractive to lukewarm pussyfooting. This is why Mitt Romney got his clock cleaned by an incumbent with no business even being in the race with the state the economy was in.
