I realize that the Democrat Party uses the Immigration Issue as cover for the fact that it is trying to import more voters and the Republican Party is trying to use it as cover for pleasing their donors with cheap labor.

That said. What do these people peddle as the logic behind arresting an illegal alien upon probable cause for committing a crime and then refusing to turn him over to ICE? Is there some kind of evidence that this public policy benefits anyone besides criminals or illegals? I really and truly want to know.

Being a citizen must stand for something, otherwise what's the point in having a country?

That’s why they are throwing a hissy about the Census question on citizenship. The more people they get the more Representatives and Electoral votes they get, regardless of if the actually vote.

Maybe I'm confused with the process, but aren't they basically treating a crime for an illegal immigrant the same as anyone else and they won't detain a person any longer than the non-immigration crime would require?

I mean unlawful presence itself not a crime, so I guess it seems odd to require local municipalities to use their facilities (often overcrowded already) and resources meant to detain people for committing crimes, mostly within their jurisdiction, to detain people for committing a civil violation that is under federal jurisdiction.

Well it's a "census of population," whether they are a citizen, legal alien, refugee, illegal immigrant, etc. and they are required to complete it regardless.

So the citizenship is irrelevant to the electoral allocations anyways. So the value of its use would be to get a better measure of the demographics of the population; however, the value of an accurate census is most important. If a question truly deceases the response rate, then that question shouldn't be included.

What if the illegal immigrant is a Russian?

Would the Left Coast welcome them with open arms too?

How about some Christian Filipino's (or other Asian peoples) fleeing Islamic persecution?

Why would you want a country when you can be a citizen of earth and the Earth Gov would take care of all of it's citizen needs?
