Budget around $800. I'm looking at some from Buds and KentuckyGunCo. Thanks!

Oh yeah, I had looked at that earlier too. Wasn't sure if that was a decent piece.

I would suggest a WASR-10 or an Arsenal SLR-104R (Arsenal will be slightly over budget). I would suggest against buying anything “US Made” like the Century Arms C39 and RAS product lines.

The Palmetto AKs had some problems earlier and they previously used cast trunions (which is a big no no in the AK world). However, I believe they switched to forged trunions a while back and they may be better now. I would do some research and look at plenty of reviews before purchasing a PSA AK. The price is good though.

I like Yugo underfolders.
If you can afford an Arsenal or find a Norinco MAK 90 I'd put them above the Yugo. The Century Arms is going to be the cheapest. People talk shite about them, but my buddy's goes boom every time he pulls the trigger.

Yea the WASRs used to be kinda crappy and I would avoid them. But the quality of WASRs got a lot better over the years and the quality of the other AKs got worse.

If your wanting to spend 800ish then this seems like a good one Arsenal SLR-107R 7.62x39
Or if you want you can get a WASR10 and have some $ left over for ammo or other things.

I came to say exactly this.

Why not the 107 with the standard 7.662x39?
I am tempted by my own link...but I have to stay focused

Just Arsenal in general, not necessarily one over the other.

As others have said you want to spend a little more for an Arsenal.
Molot Veprs used to be right around 800 before the import restrictions last year and were good to go, but good luck finding one these days.

I would look for a norinco MAK90 with milled receiver.
the Chinese made good shite back then and the stock trigger is excellent

A milled MAK90 is going to likely be well over $1,000. Unless you get lucky and find someone selling one who doesn’t know what they have.

I've got a WASR 10 and an N-PAP. If you like to add alot of shite to your firearms I would go with the WASR, since aftermarket components are slim for the N-PAP.
I had to send my WASR back to Century due to bad canted sights, but they fixed it and it was a relatively easy process.

I wouldn't touch a century ras or c93v with a 10 ft pole. Arsenals are usually gtg. My first Ak was an Arsenal SLR95. Still runs like a champ after all these years which is probably why Arsenals have good resale value if you ever have to sell it.
If you don't mind assembling a trigger group, you can buy the barreled action and make your own. Atlantic firearms and Arms of America have Polish barreled actions assembled. You would just need the trigger, hammer and disconnector along with stock set. Probably need shepherd's hook or equivalent and two roll pins Which are all super easy to get. You then have a nice not fubared by century AK.
polish wbk barreled action
They sold out but the polish will be back.

I just my first AK in from I.O. It's their AK47C. It's USA made but seems to be of good quality and the reviews tests have all been positive. Time will tell.
