Harden is Dick slapping the league and you are still focusing on last year when he wasn’t Himself to try to knock him. You want something measurable, look up a couple posts.

I think at this point you gotta call him the best two way player in the league. 3 blocks and 3 steals last nite. Best post defender in the whole nba last season iirc.

Harden and AD can't hold a candle to that guy
Harden: -23.1
Davis: -4.6
Past MVPs Durant (+19.9) and Westbrook (-22.5) aren't even close. Even the great LBJ is not even as good with a weak +45.9.

Even if you didn't go there, AD is a significantly better two way player than Harden.
That is not to take anything away from Harden, everyone knows he will be MVP and he's a great player.
But AD is #2 in Scoring, right behind Harden, so he's similarly placed on offense, but he's better than Harden in every defensive category, DRB, DWS, DBPM.
I mean he's going to be #2 in the scoring title and First Team All Defense, and will get votes for DPOY.

you are right. Hardwn is way too good offensively to ever be given the “2 way player” crutch that is used as a nice way of saying “this guy is really good at defense but not really special offensively.”

2 way player is a term I use when poking fun. it’s a joke term. it always describes a player who is better at defense than offense. And not special offensively. nobody is calling Michael Jordan or Lebron a two way player. No matter how good their defense is. Two way player means you ain’t special offensively. And we know Offense is much more important.

You mean like Anthony Davis who happens to be great at both?
Davis is 2nd in scoring, scored just 81 points less than Harden for the year (while shooting very few 3s as opposed to Harden), and has significantly better Defense.
