re: Anyone ever used Spirit Airlines?

I get the dirt cheap airlines confused, particularly Spririt and Allegiant. I've flown both without any problem because I set low expectatios.

Most recently we flew to RDU on flights with $100 base. Even after adding $40 for a round trip checked bag and $72 for reserved bigger seats, we still only paid $312 total. All other flights were more expensive and most required a connection, and I still would have had to pay to check a bag.

But that was nonstop. Do check the baggage rules because some charge baggage fees per leg, so if you have to make a connection you need to pay the baggage fee 4x (2 legs each way).
