I'm shocked that none of the Politards hasn't sky-screamed yet that this is all JBE's fault.
Maybe the reason JBE's approval numbers are still fairly high is that many people realize JBE is at least trying to do something, and the warring factions in the House are undermining all compromise attempts with their partisan games.

If JBE can't get his party and caucus under control to make genuine compromises with the GOP when they don't own the house, what hope does he have for being a succesful governor and why in the world does that warrant a decent approval rating?
And is he even interested in doing that considering that he's still asking for a lot of dumbass tax increases that's not too far off from what the hardcore fringe of his party wants?
To give an example, a big reason why Trump was in a complete tailspin with sagging numbers for a long time last year was that he was constantly fighting with his own party in the GOP and couldn't deliver a significant legislative victory until December with tax reform.
