Is Skylar Mays athletic when he wants to be ?

Lol he always seems so smooth and crafty , but lacks explosiveness. Then he breaks out a dunk like that every 4 games or so .

Mays has been extremely explosive his whole time at lsu wtf. You think its easy to run PG and get through press or on ball defense at the college level? This aint pickup ball dude.
Since last year mays explodes for dunks and can slash and finish with big men around him.

His speed and quickness is more of his problem. He has decent top end speed. Basketball is a sport you don’t get to top end that often on offensive side of ball

I watch southland conference guards that are quicker than mays. As i said before, he has good top end speed, but not super quick. There is a gigantic difference. If he was getting into the paint so easy as you say, why doesnt he average way more points and have higher FG %

I never said he was an explosive dunker and I never bashed him. In fact I love him as a player and he gets the absolute most out of his talent. He always plays hard.

Eta: Btw, what the hell does being fast or slow have to do with being an explosive dunker? Players can stand under the goal and dunk without even having to run and have an explosive dunk.

Ive literally watched every lsu game this season. Also have a background in basketball unlike the first season bandwagon fan you are. I'm tired of trying to explain the differences to you. I did not say he was a southland conference player. His size is what separates him from those type of players not his speed and quickness. You are a moron if you cant see that. Nobody is talking crap about him as most of us love him.

I bet if you put Tremont Waters and Mays in a 100 meter Mays would win. 40 yard dash Waters might when bc he is much quicker. That is my point. You cant just use a general term like athleticism when you are trying to argue your point. All of these players are athletic
